Some Experiments with Parallel Bignum Arithmeticy

This paper presents empirical data from the implementation of several algorithms for parallel integer arithmetic on a network of workstations. Algorithms were implemented using Sugarbush, a parallel version of the Maple computer algebra system, which uses C/Linda for parallel operations. The Sugarbush implementation is comprared to a specialized C/Linda implementation. Timings are provided for a network of 27 workstations.
